Greenbuild Expo Headed to Toronto October 4-7, 2011

The Greenbuild International Conference and Expo heads to Canada for the time time this year courtesy of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Early preparations are already underway in the host city of Toronto, where the world's largest conference and expo dedicated to green building is scheduled to take place between October 4-7, 2011.

If history is any indication, Greenbuild 2011 will likely deliver a healthy dose of innovative green building products and services this fall, and it should be interesting to see which companies/products emerge as the best and brightest in the industry.

For those interested in attending Greenbuild 2011, registration starts June 1 on their website. And if you aren't sure what to expect, you can check out a video recap of last years conference and expo after the break.

Subterranean Garage En Espanol

This garage (and the german beast inside) are just too cool for school. I stumbled across this innovative garage design by accident, and since the article was in spanish and the source not necessarily safe for work (NSFW), I think I'll just end this post with a quick Risky Business quote.

The Meaning of Green at Google

At Google's Corporate Headquarters in Mountain View, California, the internet search giant is going green in a huge way.  As you might imagine, running the behemoth requires a hefty amount of power; reportedly as much as a small city. Their carbon footprint in mind, Google has undertaken a series of high-profile green initiatives across it's campus.  Campus initiatives currently include the widespread use of rooftop solar panels (over 9,000 of them), plug-in stations for hybrid vehicles available for employee errands, eco-friendly server farms, organic produce grown on-site, and even a composting program for table scraps.
